Mandelic Treatment "SMT"
Do you have rosacea, acne, sensitive skin, red skin, or bumpy skin? How about blackheads, oily skin, or inflammation?
We offer a proprietary Mandelic Peel treatment created by Lisa Goodman, PA, who brings with her eight years of dermatology experience while leading the highly recognized Acne/Rosacea Center at AVAMD Santa Monica.
“Clients were receiving monthly laser treatments for their rosacea/acne and had difficulty keeping up with treatments during summer months or with events planned due to the swelling caused by vascular type lasers,” Goodman explains. “Therefore, I was motivated to find something for sensitive skin clients that could clear them up quickly but without major peeling, downtime, or swelling.”
We use the Glytone Mandelic Acid Peel, nicknamed the “Red Carpet Peel.” Mandelic acid is an ideal peeling acid, as it can treat a variety of sensitive skin issues. It also works deeper in the dermis (skin tissue) to control inflammatory pathways, which are the root of the issues.
Mandelic acid also uniquely can target only the existing stubborn bumps and cause them to flake away instead of taking weeks on their own.
We also incorporate cryotherapy and LED therapy for further inflammation pathway reduction and to stimulate quick healing and glowing skin.
Our recommended Mandelic Acid Peel treatment protocol for all skin issues involves three to four treatments spaced three to four weeks apart.
The office will tailor a plan of three treatments, which may be a single series or combination of different treatments. The exact frequency will depend on the nature of individual client’s skin and expectations.
We recommend adjunctive therapy such as a skin regimen, at-home LED devices, vitamins, wellness, and nutritional therapy to maintain best results.
The downtime is just zero to three days of mild flaking/peeling depending on the existing rosacea or acne condition, and there is very little to no pain.
